Fried chicken burger brand Butchies is to open its 'biggest restaurant yet' next month in Ealing.

The site, which will be located within the new Ealing Filmworks development, will be the group's fifth permanent location and hold 45 covers inside with a further 20 available outside.

As with other Butchies sites, it will serve an all-day menu of burgers and wings with options including The Original fried chicken sandwich with house pickles and homemade garlic and fresh herb aioli; and the Cheesy Rider burger with cheese dripping, house pickles and Butchies’ sriracha chilli sauce.

Butchies was founded in 2013 by Garrett and Emer FitzGerald, and started out life operating at street food markets, music festivals and pop-ups before moving into bricks and mortar in 2017.

“We could not be more excited to be opening here," says Garrett of the new opening.

“It's a real milestone for us, our biggest restaurant yet! We’ve come so far from our pop-up days, but our mission to serve the best buttermilk fried chicken sandwich in the world is still the same as it’s always been. We cannot wait to spread the Butchies love in Ealing.”

Butchies hasn't had the easiest six months. In October the group announced plans to open a restaurant in London’s Borough Yards before the end of the year, which is still yet to launch. The group has also recently ended its pub residency in Camden, as well as shuttered its stalls in Market Halls Fulham, which closed permanently earlier this year; and Market Halls West End.

The group now has four operating locations in the capital, including in Shoreditch, Clapham, Earl's Court and Market Halls Victoria.

A spokesperson for Butchies confirmed that plans to open at Borough Yards are still set to go ahead, but a new launch date is yet to be confirmed.
