The Peacock in Boughton, Chester has been transformed into the new franchise pub concept following a £260,000 makeover. It will be run by new franchisee Peter Boardman.
The Peacock has been refurbished throughout in line with the Hive Pubs brand with an overall of the outside space which now features beach huts and a large, covered pergola area.
Aimed at those with experience of running a pub, the Hive Pub franchise agreement gives licensees a ready to trade pub within a proven branded concept for just £5,000 ingoing cost and a minimum guaranteed income of £20,000 plus additional income based on performance such as share of turnover.
The move is part of Greene King Pub Partners’ ambitions to grow its franchise estate, including Hive Pubs and unbranded franchise pubs, to around 170 sites over the next five years.
“As a Hive Pubs franchisee, I have been able to open a new pub business without the risk or large investment usually needed,” says Boardman.
“The ready-to-go proven concept Hive Pubs delivers allows me to focus on running and growing my pub business.”
Andy Wearn, business development manager at Greene King Pub Partners says: “We’re really pleased with the transformation of The Peacock to a Hive Pub. The pub now represents everything Hive Pubs is about – community and delivering the best local pub experience.
“This is our sixth Hive Pub site, and we look forward to rolling out more in the coming months and year ahead.”
