The chef has raised more than £30,000 from more than 350 backers to raise funds to buy new equipment, crockery, tableware, and furniture for his restaurant.
As part of the campaign, launched on crowdfunding platform Kickstarter, there was the chance to win a £500 meal for four people with a pledge of just £10 or more, which received the backing of more than 200 people.
Skeet opened Cora, which is named after his daughter, in January this year following the success of the Bones Supper Club that he set up during the pandemic and ran from his living room and the 12-cover 40 Days, 40 Nights pop-up restaurant that ran at the end of last year.
Skeet has previously worked with chefs including Gordon Ramsay, Marcus Wareing, Tom Aikens, Jason Atherton and Brett Graham mand was head chef at Mikael Jonsson’s Chiswick restaurant Hedone. His cooking career came to an abrupt end in 2017 when he was severely injured in a hit and run, leaving him unable to work.
Writing on Twitter he said: “It’s official!! Our crowdfunding campaign has just ended and we smashed our £25k target Again, thank you so much to everyone who has supported us and believed we are worth your investment.”
The chef had previously said that he was nervous about crowdfunding for Cora as a result of an unsuccessful crowdfund he launched before his accident.
