The hotel will be operated by RedCat’s subsidiary, The Coaching Inn Group, which it acquired last August.
It brings The Coaching Inn Group’s estate up to 24 sites.
Since the acquisition of the group by RedCat – an investment vehicle founded and chaired by former Greene King chief executive Rooney Anand – it has expanded the business through the acquisition of six additional sites.
The Crown Hotel consists of 37 bedrooms, and features a leisure centre with indoor swimming pool, sauna, gym and fitness suite.
“We’re pleased to have added The Crown Hotel to our high quality and fast-growing estate," says Kevin Charity, chief executive of The Coaching Inn Group
“I’m delighted with how The Coaching Inn Group is accelerating its growth with RedCat’s support. We’re actively looking for new opportunities to expand our estate of historic coaching inns even further.”
RedCat is is backed by funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management and has been steadily building its estate since its first purchase in March last year.
“Kevin and The Coaching Inn Group team are a class act and have a strong track record of identifying and running top quality pub hotels," says Anand.
"RedCat are delighted to be able to support the business and its continued expansion.”
