The 14-strong group, which operates Tomahawk-branded steakhouses in locations including Teesside, Newcastle, London and Darlington, as well as a Rio Brazilian Steakhouse and a Pollo Chicken Shop, says it has been courted by numerous private equity firms and is looking for funding to acquire any smaller steakhouse groups that are coming to market.
The brand has grown steadily over the past two years with new restaurants in Hoxton in London and York. It is stepping up the pace of expansion plan with a further eight new sites expected to open before July including Saltburn, Chester, Morpeth, Harrogate and Didsbury for the Tomahawk brand and Sunderland and Durham under its Rio Brazilian Steakhouse brand.
"2022 has opened out to be a really exciting time for the expansion of the Tomahawk group and we have been inundated with potential sites all over the UK," says owner Howard Eggleston.
"We are busy daily touring the country meeting with landlords and agents securing sites, but that doesn't mean we are anywhere near capacity."
The current acquisition plan takes the group to July, and they are looking to fulfill the pipeline after this period."
