Rockwater to take on two seafront cafes in Poole

Both former cafes, the two sites in Sandbanks and Branksome Chine will together make up Rockwater Village, although they are around two miles away from each other.

The Sandbanks site will feature a central cocktail bar, ice cream parlour and  terrace that will directly overlook the sea and a number of shacks offering food and drink to takeaway.  

The Branksome Chine site, meanwhile, will feature a family-friendly, affordable restaurant on the ground floor and a further space with a large roof terrace and retractable roof. It will also be surrounded by shacks offering food and drink to takeaway.  

Like the group’s Hove seafront site - which launched in early 2021 - the two new venues will combine a bar and restaurant offer with a programme of community events, including yoga and poetry readings. 

A venture capitalist, Davis says the new project has required a total investment of £8.7m and is intended to regenerate the area and drive tourism footfall both nationally and internationally.

“The new venues will completely change the way Bournemouth seafront operates, offering an elevated and community-driven hospitality experience,” he continues.

“In keeping with Branksome and Sandbanks' community-driven ethos, the venues will aim to serve as a new community hub to nurture the mental and physical well-being of all visitors.”
