German Doner Kebab says it will open a further 12 new restaurants before 2021 draws to a close, thereby confirming its position as the UK’s fastest-growing restaurant chain.

The Hero Brands-owned gourmet kebab chain says it is set to deliver on its commitment to open 47 new restaurants in the UK during 2021.

The new locations include Basingstoke, Barkingside, Bicester, Manchester Oxford Rd, Tottenham Hale, Willesden Green, Hammersmith, Sunderland, Greenford, Burton Upon Trent, Stirling, and Meadowhall Sheffield.

The brand has already opened four restaurants during December.

CEO Imran Sayeed says German Doner Kebab growth strategy for 2022 will be announced shortly.

“2021 has proven to be a landmark year in the German Doner Kebab story as we continue our mission of growing the fast-casual brand of the future.”

“It’s a huge statement for us to open 12 new restaurants in the last 11 days of the year and demonstrates how we are responding to the huge consumer demand across the UK regions.”

“The openings set us up firmly for new growth in 2022 and we look forward to growing our reach and bringing the German Doner Kebab experience to even more cities and towns up and down the country.”

Meanwhile, German Donor Kebab’s sister brand Choppaluna has announced plans to open ten new restaurants across the UK in 2022

Following the success of its London Bloomsbury and Berlin restaurants over the past two years, the brand is forging ahead with plans to open restaurants in London High Holborn in Q1 of next year, in Glasgow in Q2, along with Edinburgh, Manchester, Oxford, Birmingham and Cambridge following later in the year with further locations to be announced.
