The Italian restaurant and deli brand’s latest venue will be housed in a two-storey building on the corner of Wigmore Street and Marylebone Lane.
The ground-floor will have an all-day restaurant with an open-theatre kitchen and with an interior design that will feature Lina’s trademark 1940s style of pastel green and white stripes. Menu items will include signature antipasti as well as a new range of larger sharing pasta dishes and secondi as well as a large dolci offering.
There will also be an open-plan delicatessen, reminiscent of the original Lina Stores on Brewer Street, offering a range of salads, panini, fresh pasta, and pizzette to eat in or take away.
The lower-ground floor will house a more intimate dining toom with an art-déco bar topped with oxblood marble, timber wood panelling, darker green velvet seating, antique angled mirrors and original vintage Bentwood chairs.
“We’re incredibly excited to arrive in beautiful Marylebone Village, an area with many similarities to our first home in Soho,” says Masha Rener, Lina Stores head chef.
“With its neighbourhood feel and strong sense of local community, Marylebone Village is the perfect location for us to open both restaurant and delicatessen for the full Lina Stores experience. We can’t wait to welcome you to Lina Stores Marylebone in 2022.”
The Marylebone opening is one of a number of new and planned sites in the capital and beyond for the brand, which was founded back in 1944 but which has gone on the expansion trail over the past few years. In October it opened in the former Kym’s site in Bloomberg Arcade and also plans to open a restaurant in Clapham Common in the former The Dairy site.
The brand also currently has sites on Brewer Street and Greek Street in Soho, and Stable Street in King’s Cross and recently moved overseas with a restaurant in Tokyo.
