The iconic awards celebrate all that is great and good about the wonderful world of gastropubs and all that goes into them.
The Newcomer of the Year award is open to gastropubs, which have been open for up to 18 months on the closing date for entries.
The 2021 Newcomer of the Year was the Meynell Ingram Arms in Burton-on-Trent, Derbyshire, which not only launched an outstanding and diverse offer, but managed to pivot its business exceptionally well during a difficult period.
The exceptional pub did all it could to ensure it remained a gastronomic thrill following the end of lockdown.
Excellent service
While the pub and its team is relatively new to the scene, it opened with a bang and continued to wow visitors with its menu and drinks offer. Meanwhile, the Front of House Team of the Year award recognises managers and teams who are a vital part of their pub’s business success and help deliver excellent service at their pub
The Dog at Wingham in Kent was crowed with the award this year thanks to the fact the standards of service at the pub continued to improve from an already near perfect position.
The team at the Dog really do go that extra mile to ensure every diner’s and drinker’s experience in the pub is first rate.
Incredible work
From the chef’s in the kitchen, to the bar staff and front-of-house, the experience at this pub will be second-to-none.
Publisher of the Estrella Damm Top 50 Gastropubs Chris Lowe said: “After the turbulent past 18 months, we are really excited to announce the entry for our Estrella Damm Top 50 Gastropub awards.
“The awards serve to celebrate and honour the incredible work gastropubs do as well as recognise upcoming, extraordinary venues.”
Three pubs in each category will be shortlisted and then visited by experts before Christmas, to see the business in action.
Entries close on Friday 19 November so enter now to be in with a chance of scooping one of these prestigious awards.
