Craig Johnston named head chef at Marcus Belgravia
Craig Johnston has been promoted to head chef at Marcus Wareing’s Michelin-starred restaurant Marcus Belgravia.

Johnson, who was winner of MasterChef: The Professionals 2017 and the youngest winner of the TV cooking competition at the time, joined the team in April 2018 as a senior chef de partie and has worked up through the ranks holding junior sous and sous chef roles.

Before joining Marcus Wareing Johnston worked at the now-closed Royal Oak Paley Street, which was co-owned by Michael Parkison and son Nick.

The 26 -year-old chef will continue to work alongside Marcus Wareing and chef patrons, Mark and Shauna Froydenlund.

“Craig’s talent as a chef has shone through from the day I met him on MasterChef. Through determination and hard work, he has grown into a strong individual and a natural leader in the kitchen,” says Wareing.

“Having given himself the time to develop and learn, I’m incredibly confident he’s ready for this next step. He is deserving of this and every accolade and I can’t wait to see how he elevates the Marcus kitchen even further in this new position.”

Marcus Belgravia is located within the five-star The Berkeley Hotel in Knightsbridge. It opened in 2008 under the name Marcus Wareing at The Berkeley.
