Chefs Shiri Kraus and Amir Batito will launch a Middle Eastern steakhouse concept in Camden’s Hawley Wharf later this month.

The Black Cow is billed as a chef’s table concept and will combine a US-style steakhouse experience with Middle Eastern flavours.

Kraus’ CV includes high-profile Middle Eastern restaurants Palomar and The Barbary while Batito worked for the Machneyuda Group, which owns Coal Office in London as well as three high profile restaurants in Israel.

The Black Cow will set 17 guests per seating, offering a 'small, yet purposefully-picked selection of steaks' with prices starting at £10 for a small onglet steak. Other options include a 10oz Denver and a 30oz sirloin on the bone for two.

Each individual steak is prepared and dressed with Middle Eastern inspired flavours and burnt herb oil with guests able to supplement their steak with a selection of small plates and sides.

The Black Cow will also offer takeaway lunch options, including pulled steak, melted cheese, and soft egg in brik pastry.

“Amir and I are so excited to bring our vision to life. Over the years we’ve worked together, we’ve bonded over our shared belief that a restaurant should be an extension of our personal table, and all guests should be welcomed with open arms, as if old friends,” says Batito.

“Together, we want to bring brand-new flavours to steak house staples at an accessible price for all, and centre the quality of the meat and the experience of dining at The Black Cow above all else.”

Located between Camden Road overground and Regent's canal,  Hawley Wharf is a 580,000 sq ft mixed use development that will eventually by home to 60 further places to eat.
