Marylebone hotel restaurant Roux at The Landau will reopen at some point next year following ‘exciting concept changes’.

Michel Roux Jr.'s restaurant at Langham Hotel has remained ‘temporarily closed’ following coronavirus restrictions easing earlier this year prompting speculation about its future.

The high profile chef's pub-styled restaurant at the Portland Place hotel - The Wigmore - continues to trade.

Roux at The Landau was launched by Roux Jr. and his now late father Albert in 2010. The duo had not worked together together since Albert handed the reigns of Le Gavroche over to his son in 1991.

The restaurant relaunched in 2018 with a more informal concept that sought to ‘reframe the way in which today’s customers are able to experience the world of fine dining’.

In its most recent incarnation the restaurant offered an upscale menu that includes the likes of seared foie gras, rabbit and pig’s trotters on toast and pickled vegetables; steamed turbot, mussel chowder, bacon, celery and apple; and kalamansi mousse, tanariva cream, sable and citrus alongside 500 wines by the glass.

Roux Jr.'s London restaurant portfolio has shrunk since the pandemic, with the chef closing Roux at Parliament Square last summer citing "ongoing uncertainty ahead".
