Italian brewhouse concept Doppio Malto to make UK debut in Glasgow
Italian kitchen-brewery Doppio Malto has chosen Glasgow for its UK debut with a site set to launch in George Square later this week (13 August).

Billed as Europe’s leading kitchen-brewery concept, Doppio Malto (meaning double malt) launched in 2016 and now operates circa 30 restaurants.

The majority are in Northern Italy but the brand also runs two restaurants in France. Doppio Malto’s goal is to open 100 restaurants throughout the UK following the group’s rapid growth in Italy in recent years.

Doppio Malto Glasgow will have 8,000 sq ft of floor space comprising an 80-cover restaurant and full-service bar. The group expects to launch a site in Newcastle before the end of the year.

The concept offers fifteen different house-made beers alongside fresh pastas, pizzas and burgers as well as an extensive range of BBQ meats cooked-to-order on a grill that uses vegetable charcoals.

“At the very heart of Doppio Malto is our motto “un posto felice” - a "happy place". Everything is designed around feeling good - from the food and beer to the service and physical space, and we are so excited to bring this unique concept to the UK," says CEO and founder Giovanni Porcu.
