Borough Market-based restaurant and natural wine bar Elliot’s is set to launch its second London site next Thursday (29 July) in Hackney.

Launching almost 10 years to the day of the opening of the Borough Market restaurant, which is owned by Australian chef Brett Redman and Samanthan Lim, Elliot's Hackney occupy the former The Corner Deli site on Mare Street and take the same approach as its older sibling in working with high-quality produce from independent farmers, growers and fishermen.

The opening was originally planned for February, but delayed as a result of the third national lockdown in England.

Redman has worked with head chef Matt Tarantini to oversee the menu, which will echo that of its predecessor and include Isle of Mull cheese puffs; rose veal tartare; and the 'signature' Basque-style, woodfired cheesecake.

Joining the team as general manager will be Cameron Dewar, previously of Elystan Street, who will also be overseeing the restaurant's wine list, which will continue to build on already long standing relationships with small scale, low intervention producers and distributors.

Designed by international architects Hesselbrand, the restaurant will seat 70 guests and features a curved bar made of sustainably sourced eucalyptus wood and brushed stainless steel.

The bar and main dining space has large timber windows and glass doors, which are connected to the outdoor seating area.

“We are very excited to be able to open a restaurant in East London, our home for the last decade and where some of London's most exciting restaurants are based,” says Redman.
