The Bridgepoint-backed fast food chain will open its first Parkdean Resorts site at the Trecco Bay Holiday Park in Porthcawl, south Wales, in August.
“We’re excited to welcome a new franchisee and look forward to the partnership ahead of us," says Alasdair Murdoch, CEO of Burger King UK.
"It’s brilliant to see expansion within the hospitality industry after what’s been a trying time, and we wish the best of success to the Trecco Bay Holiday Park venture.”
The new restaurant forms part of a major makeover of Parkdean Resorts' Trecco Bay park.
Parkdean has recently invested £3.6m in Trecco Bay, and designated it as one its seven ‘Parks of the Future’.
“We’re always looking to improve our food and drink offer, and Burger King opening at Trecco Bay will be a great addition for our guests on park to enjoy,” says Steve Richards, chief executive of Parkdean Resorts.
It follows news that London-based premium fried chicken brand Thunderbird has opened its first site outside of the capital having signed a franchise deal with Parkdean.
The first site under the deal launched last week at Parkdean Resorts’ park in Camber Sands, Sussex, with a second due to open at Trecco Bay in south Wales before the end of the month. The plan is to then roll out the offer across additional parks over the coming year.
