The Glasgow restaurant is set to launch today (11 June) alongside a new opening in Milton Keynes that will take the Bar + Block portfolio to 17 sites.
An additional restaurant in Edinburgh is expected to open later this year.
“We’re very excited to be back in business post a year full of restrictions and to be in the position to begin growing the Bar + Block brand again," says Rebecca Donaldson, commercial marketing director at Whitbread Restaurants.
"We are thrilled to be opening our first restaurant in Scotland and in Milton Keynes and are gearing up for a busy summer.”
Bar + Block's new sites will follow the steakhouse's all-day trading format; serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, seven days a week.
The menu puts the spotlight on 30-day aged steaks available in a variety of cuts and sizes, hand cut to order.
It also features a variety of freshly-ground burgers, salads, grills, and 'grazing' plates.
Whitbread, which also owns the Beefeater and Brewers Fayre brands, as well as the Premier Inn hotel chain, announced the opening of two new Cookhouse + Pub sites, in Blackpool and the Isle of Wight.
The hotel and restaurant operator recently reported that revenue had fallen 71.5% to £589.4m for the 2020/21 financial year, but that it was banking on a boom in staycations this summer to help it recover some of the £1bn loss it racked up last year.
