The walls between the two casual dining restaurants - which have always been under the same ownership - have been opened to create an airy, light-filled space with room for 75 covers.
The two menus have also been combined allowing guests to enjoy ‘the best of both Zia Lucia and Berto’s food’ and new dishes inspired by the food founders Claudio Vescovo and Gianluca D’Angelo grew up with.
Pizzeria Zia Lucia launched on Holloway Road in 2016 and has now launched a total of five restaurants across London. Berto, a hand-made fresh pasta concept joined the family in 2019, opening up right next door to its sister venue.
Both Zia Lucia and Berto use four different flours to create four different pizza and pasta doughs: traditional, wholemeal, gluten-free and black dough.
Pasta sauces include slow-cooked beef ragu and nduja and fresh burrata while pizza topping include Arianna (mozzarella, gorgonzola, fresh sausage, honey, truffle oil) and Andrea Pirlo (mozzarella, gorgonzola, apple, olive pathe).
“We are delighted to welcome our treasured guests back into the new joint venue, where they will be able to order from a larger menu and will be able to pick both homemade pasta and pizza from our four signature doughs," says Vescovo.
"We can’t wait to host all of Berto and Zia Lucia’s friends in our upgraded venue and share all of our new food offerings with them."
