Together, the pair are hoping to bring together a coalition of 'willing and progressive' hospitality operators to promote, champion, socialise and co-create 'the biggest, most effective and impactful recruitment campaign the UK (and beyond) has ever seen'.
It is hoped the campaign will be live by Q4 of 2021, and will last for at least a year.
The campaign will be amplified through heavy advertising on and offline to attract people at all levels and skills to work in UK hospitality.
It will aim to get people’s attention, gain their interest, drive desire and create action in the form of applications into the market from first jobbers, those who have left hospitality, and people who would be open to leaving their current role in another industry for something new, exciting and fulfilling.
Longer term, the campaign will be used as a platform to change the perception of working in hospitality forever through consistent, targeted messaging.
At this stage, McCulloch and McDowall are looking for operators to help champion the campaign and thus create more momentum and interest from the industry. They are also looking to raise funds to support the campaign, with operators and investors looking to get involved asked to contribute what they can to the central campaign pot, for example through donating some of their recruitment budget.
