The Hand & Flowers chef Tom Kerridge is to open a gourmet fish & chips restaurant within Harrods Dining Hall.

Kerridge’s Fish & Chips launches on 11 June in the space that was once home to Harrods-run The Fish Bar at Harrods, which also majored on fish & chips.

The 24-seat (16 with current Covid restrictions) restaurant will offer an unabashedly premium menu, with its signature dish starting at £35 (the price includes market day fish, chips, Matson curry sauce, tartare sauce and pease pudding).

Other battered options include brill, lobster, squid, scallops and Dublin Bay prawns. Kerridge’s Fish & Chip also offers its handcut, triple-cooked chips topped with caviar and crème fraîche with prices ranging from 10g for £32 to 250g for £495.

Other menu items include Morecambe Bay shrimp with spiced paprika butter and treacle bread; cockle popcorn and malted beer vinegar;  and chip shop pickled onions, eggs and dill pickles.

Kerridge is also offering samosas made by friend and fellow two-star chef Sat Bains, while desserts include Eton mess, bread & butter pudding, and elderflower syllabub with summer fruit compote and gingernut biscuits.

The launch of Kerridge’s Fish & Chips coincides with new late opening hours at Dining Hall when, from Thursday to Saturday, diners can eat in the historic Dining Hall until 10.30pm, after the store closes at 7pm.

It also follows the arrival of two other high profile British chefs: Gordon Ramsay with Gordon Ramsay Burger and Jason Atherton with Harrods Social.

“I am proud to bring my take on the best fish and seafood dishes to the most iconic department store in the world. I really believe that British talent and produce are at the forefront of great cuisine, and that is reflected in our team and the food we will serve at Kerridge’s Fish & Chips," says Kerridge.
