'Ever-evolving' tasting menu concept Six by Nico is to open its second London restaurant on Chancellor Passage in Canary Wharf later this summer.

It will be the eighth national location for the group, which was founded by Scotland-born chef Nico Simeone in 2017.

Six by Nico's concept revolves around a six-course tasting menu that changes every six weeks and is themed around different places, memories and ideas.

The new 100-cover restaurant in Canary Wharf will feature a dedicated bar area and include a 30-cover terrace.

"This year, we're excited to open our second London location in Canary Wharf," says Simeone, who launched the first Six by Nico in Finnieston, Glasgow, in 2017, and subsequently opened a second site in Edinburgh the following year.

"It's always been a dream of mine to expand in this incredible city, and this area of London already has a lot to offer. Our team is enthusiastic about bringing the Six by Nico experience to Canary Wharf and we look forward to bringing our one-of-a-kind dining experience to the area.”

As was reported back in March, a further opening is planned to launch on Byres Road in Simeone's hometown of Glasgow in September; bringing the brand's tally of sites in the city to three.

In 2019 Six by Nico underwent a period of significant growth, expanding outside of Scotland and opening restaurants in Belfast, Manchester, and Liverpool in quick succession, alongside a second location in Glasgow.

Six by Nico opened its first London restaurant in Fitzrovia last summer following the lifting of the first national lockdown.
