Sally Abé leaves The Harwood Arms
Abé, who was named Chef to Watch at the 2019 Estrella Damm National Restaurant Awards, is preparing to take on a new role overseeing the food and drink offer at four new venues located in the Conrad London St. James hotel.
While no formal announcement of Abé's departure has been made, the chef has confirmed the news within the profile of her Instagram page.
It was first announced in October last year that Abé would be joining the Conrad London St. James hotel.
As consultant chef, she will consult on the food and drink offer at a new signature restaurant being opened in the hotel as well as at a contemporary take on the traditional London pub; an afternoon tea lounge, as well as the hotel’s first cocktail bar.
The opening of the four new venues follows a £1.75m investment in the Hilton hotel, located next to St. James's Park tube station.
At the time, Abé said: “This is the opportunity I’ve been looking for.
“The partnership with Conrad London St James gives me a chance to fulfil my ambitions to create dishes and menus that show every aspect of my passion for seasonal British food.”
Abé's CV includes time spent cooking at The Savoy, Claridge’s with Gordon Ramsay, The Ledbury with Brett Graham, and Elystan Street with Phil Howard.
She joined The Harwood Arms in February 2017.
