Steve Groves appointed executive chef at Glyndebourne
The role sees the highly respected chef take responsibility for all F&B at the venue, including the Middle & Over Wallop fine-dining restaurant, Mildmay restaurant and Nether Wallop restaurant.
The catering at Glyndebourne - which is located just outside Lewes and is set to reopen this May - is run by RA Venues, part of Compass Group UK & Ireland, which also operated Roux at Parliament Square before it closed last year due to the pandemic.
Groves is well-known in the industry having won MasterChef: The Professionals in 2009 and the National Chef of the Year cooking competition in 2019.
A popular destination for politicians and business people, Roux at Parliament Square was listed on our own list of the top 100 places to eat in the UK.
His cooking style is billed as classical with a modern approach that champions British suppliers.
“I am delighted to join Glyndebourne ahead of the reopening this May,” he says. “Glyndebourne is an iconic cultural venue in the UK and we are looking forward to providing unforgettable dining experiences in an incredible location after such a hard year for the hospitality industry."
A full interview with Groves will be published later this month.
