British Afghan BBQ restaurant Cue Point is opening what it says will be London’s first drive-thru BBQ later this week, in Chiswick.

Opening on 15 April at Chiswick Pavilion, the drive-thru will serve meal boxes including the feast box for one, which includes 16-hour oak-smoked brisket; buffalo wings; lamb barbecoa; chunky chips, a hush puppy; Afghan chutney and chilli aioli all served up on a large naan; and bun meal platters with a choice of Brisket with chutney; fried chicken with chilli aioli, lettuce; and hash brown.

Cue Point founders Josh Moroney and Mursal Saiq have also created some new meals boxes to celebrate Ramadan. These include the Afghan vegan naco meal kit as well brisket and lamb barbecoa naco meal kits. Sides include saffron-infused sweetcorn; and desserts feature a smoked caramel, Daim bar and pistachio thick cookie roll.

Later this year Saig and Moroney will launch a social enterprise to ensure that refugees who come to this country have a chance to move on from just being pot washers forever.

The structure will be one of a rolling cycle so that people move up the ranks and become able to train new joiners.

Diners for the drive-thru will be invited to wait in the car park at their allotted time, and food will be brought to their car.
