Rick Stein is to open a coffee shop in Padstow in partnership with Cornish roastery Origin Coffee in the space that was once home to Rick Stein Patisserie.

Due to launch on 7 April, Rick Stein Coffee Shop will occupy a prime site in the middle of the north Cornwall harbourside town and is being billed as the first speciality coffee shop in the area.

Spearheaded by Charlie Stein – director of drinks across all Rick Stein restaurants – the launch aims to bring Cornwall some of the very best, ethically-sourced coffee from the Certified B Corporation roastery, and its global producer partners.

The building has undergone a complete redesign by the family-owned restaurant group’s directors of design, Jill and Ed Stein.

A mason and carpenter by trade, Ed  has built a stained wood service bar with bespoke zinc countertop – complementing exposed brick walls and the modern, pared-back style of the shop.

Focussing on coffee-to-go, with a few tables for sit-in dining, the food menu will feature 'elevated all-day favourites' including clam chowder, brab sandwiches and reuben bagels.

The Rick Stein Coffee Shop will offer a simple menu of premium single-origin coffee selected by Charlie and Origin Coffee.

Rick Stein operates a large number of businesses in Padstow including a fish and chip shop, a bistro, a café, a hotel and his flagship The Seafood Restaurant.
