The company said it had evolved the evening proposition, which it first began to roll out in November 2020 to 30 sites, with new items such as a katsu curry, new pizzas, and wedges.
Pret told BigHospitality's sister site MCA that it had now decided to focus on a smaller selection of 13 shops to continue testing the offering, before rolling out its Dinners offer 'in the best way possible'.
A spokesperson told MCA: “Since we launched the trial of Dinners by Pret, we’ve had positive feedback from our customers on the ranges, which is why our food team has been busy experimenting with new recipes, including developing more curry and pizza dishes.
"As this is a new category for Pret, we are listening closely to customer feedback and continuing to gather key learnings before we roll out further. We are also continuing to review the locations where we choose to trial the Dinners by Pret range. We have recently decided to focus on a smaller selection of 13 shops so we can focus on rolling out the initiative in the best way possible.”
Pret said the 13 new items took some of the nation’s favourite takeaway items, and gave them a 'Pret twist' for the evening.
The range will also be trailing set menus for the first time, with meal deals available with sides.
Briony Raven, UK Food & Coffee Director at Pret, added: “We’ve been hard at work, continuing to develop and evolve our Dinners range and are proud to have created a new menu inspired by Pret classics and customer requests.
“We’ve taken on board customer feedback and are excited to launch our version of the infamous Chicken Katsu curry, as well as a vegan version using sweet potato. We are also committed to driving value for customers and, with this new Dinners range, have created a collection of set menus where customers can get one of our hero lines, a side and Pret dipping pot all together.
“After a long year, people are experiencing takeaway fatigue, so we’re excited to be able to offer the Pret cooking people already love for breakfast and lunch, now for dinner.”
The new Dinners by Pret range will be available from 13 shops across London and surrounding areas and available on delivery via Deliveroo, UberEats and Just Eat from 2 March.
