Boxpark appoints Ben McLaughlin as new COO ahead of Boxhall expansion
Boxpark has announced the promotion of Ben McLaughlin to chief operating officer (COO) as it looks to concentrate on its growth and development of new sibling concept Boxhall.

McLaughlin joined Boxpark as operations manager in early 2018, having previously worked for Stonegate Pub Company.

He replaces David Gough as COO.

Gough was appointed to the role in September last year, but has recently left the business.

McLaughlin's role will see him lead the street food company’s strategy and oversee all commercial and operational aspects of the business as it looks to expand and evolve.

Boxpark, which currently has three London locations in Shoreditch, Croydon and Wembley, said last year that it plans to open around 10 new sites over the next five years in major UK cities, with locations including London, Bristol, Cardiff, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Edinburgh and Glasgow being considered.

The Boxhall concept, first announced by the group back in 2019, will be intended as smaller F&B-focused destinations featuring between six and 12 street food vendors.

Boxpark has also previously mooted the launch of a Boxoffice concept, which would be designed as a way to incorporate a co-working spaces into new Boxpark sites and be set over four to six floors.

"As Covid-19 continues to impact the hospitality industry, we can only hope to remain positive and use this time to focus on our future plans," says Roger Wade, Boxpark CEO and founder.

"I am delighted to confirm Ben McLaughlin’s new position as COO - he is an extremely valued member of the team and has brought fantastic insights into the business since joining three years ago. I have no doubt he will continue to deliver great results at Boxpark as we evolve.”
