Karl O' Dell, former head chef at Texture restaurant in London, and Olivia Burt, 2019 MasterChef The Professionals finalist are among the chefs soon to launch delivery meal options on new restaurant meal delivery platform Restaurant Box.

The soon-to-launch platform will also feature restaurant brands such as Chotto Matte, Café Spice Namaste, Dinings, Café Murano, The French House and Haar at Home.

O'Dell was appointed head chef of Texture in 2018, a role he held until the restaurant announced last year that it would not reopen as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic.

He is listed on the Restaurant Box website along with Burt, a 2019 Roux Scholarship finalist.

Restaurant Box is founded by Michelle McIntosh and has TopTable founder Karen Hanton as a lead investor and chair.

The business is looking to grow the burgeoning restaurant meal kit delivery market both in lockdown and beyond with its at home restaurant experiences.

"The customer at home is looking for a curated food experience, tuition around how to cook, for inspiration, for more engagement with their food," says McIntosh.

"If you could stick a really strong magnet in front of that proposition you will surely end up in the stratosphere – to me that connection is restaurants and chefs."

"The at-home lifestyle will endure. The key office days will be Monday to Wednesday with commuters back in the home counties for the peak dining occasions and will still want meal kits at home."
