Neapolitan pizza brand Rudy’s is eyeing a site in Cheshire for its seventh restaurant opening.

The site in Stockton Heath is a former Barclays Bank unit located within the Church Farm shopping precinct on Walton Road.

According to a planning permission document, the site will hold 50 covers in the main dining area and include a downstairs kitchen.

Rudy's, which is backed by Manchester’s Mission Mars hospitality group, has also confirmed to BigHospitality that it is actively looking for further sites in the Greater Manchester area.

The chain is renowned for using a 24-hour fermented dough that's made in house.

Its menu offers 12 pizzas priced from £4.90 - £8.90, available alongside small Italian starters, sharing plates and desserts such as tiramisu.

Rudy's was founded in 2015 by Jim Morgan and his partner Kate Wilson.

The Neapolitan pizza concept launched in Ancoats, Manchester, in 2015, and has since grown to six sites in Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, Leeds and Sale.

Mission Mars, which is also behind Bavarian-style beer hall Albert’s Schloss, received £10m funding towards its expansion from investment partner Business Growth Fund (BGF) back in 2018.

BGF has previously backed restaurant groups Giggling Squid, Barburrito and Filmore & Union.
