The steakhouse group has invested around £500,000 to open in the former Cafe Rouge in the city’s Bridge Street. It is due to open on 7 December subject to Government guidelines around Coronavirus.
The new restaurant will have space for 100 socially distanced customers and will create more than 50 jobs in the city.
The new opening marks the company’s continued push for expansion despite the Coronavirus pandemic, with more sites being sought, including one in Bury St Edmunds.
“We’re determined to keep bucking the trend and keep expanding at a time when so many businesses, sadly, are feeling the negative effects of the pandemic,” says managing director Stephen Hutton.
“There are still opportunities out there and we’re in a position to capitalise on them. We’re looking to keep growing in 2021 and beyond.”
“We are confident that, with the right investor support, we can take the Middletons brand nationwide.”
Middletons opened its first restaurant just outside King’s Lynn in 2011 and now has restaurants in its Chelmsford, Peterborough, Leicester, Colchester, Norwich, Milton Keynes and King’s Lynn.
It employs around 275 staff and has an annual turnover of £15m.
