Restaurant group GSG Hospitality is bringing its Salt Dog Slims concept to Manchester with the opening of a venue near the Northern Quarter and Spinningfields areas of the city.

The new restaurant, the second Salt Dog Slims in the group’s portfolio, marks the northern-based group’s first move into Manchester. Like the original in Liverpool, the Manchester restaurant will have a underground bar that will require a secret code and will be open to guests ‘by appointment only’.

It will specialise in American style chilli dogs and have an extensive beer and cocktail list when it opens at the start of 2021.

“Despite the current lockdown and recent Tier 3 restrictions in both Liverpool and Manchester, we’re determined to stay positive at GSG,” says Matt Farrell, co-founder of GSG Hospitality.

“We’ve been considering expansion into other northern cities for a while now and we’ve finally found a venue that is perfect for us and the concept it’ll be home to.

“Salt Dog Slims is a much-loved bar for its music, drinks and unique atmosphere and we’re looking forward to bringing it to Manchester.”

Salt Dog Slims opened in Liverpool in 2012.

GSG Hospitality also operates Liverpool venues including Duke Street Food and Drink Market, Bold Street Coffee, Maluco, Slim’s on Bold Street, Santa Chupitos, Super Megabite, and 81 Ltd.
