Following on from the launch of its first permanent London restaurant in Dalston back in June, the group now has four dedicated Oowee Vegan locations split evenly between the capital and Bristol.
It also operates a Deliveroo Editions site in Brighton.
Initially open for takeaway and delivery via Deliveroo while the England lockdown remains in place, the new Brixton restaurant will serve a menu of 'dirty' vegan junk food that includes 'The Big Oowee' burger made with a Beyond Meat patty, American-style cheese, hash brown, gherkins, lettuce and 'signature' sauce; and sriracha ‘shrimp’ loaded fries topped with sweet-pickled red onions and chives.
Oowee was founded in Bristol by Charlie and Verity Foss in 2016 as a pop-up sandwich kitchen, and went on to establish itself as an American-style diner site concept.
However, while the original restaurant continues to offer a classic meat-focused fast food menu, the founders say they began to focus on developing a dedicated vegan offering after opening a Deliveroo Editions site in London in 2018.
The popularity of the vegan menu led Charlie and Verity to subsequently launch two Oowee Vegan diners in Bristol last year.
At the same time, the pair also decided to focus solely on being a plant-based brand going forward.
The founders said in June that as well as opening a second London location, they hoped to establish an Oowee Vegan diner in another 'major city' before the year is out.
