First announced last year, the new 4,500sq ft space will feature both a dining area and a farmer’s markets-inspired, artisan producer-supplied store, drawing from local producers including The Original Baker, Bakeri Baltzersen, Farmison & Co., Raydale, Longley Farm, Acorn Dairies and Taylors of Harrogate.
Similarly to the group's other sites, it will have an all-day menu including breakfast pastries, sausage rolls, filled brioches, sandwiches and salads, and artisan coffee.
Rotisserie chicken and made to order hot pasta will also be available, alongside craft beer, spirits, biscuits, confectionery and gift hampers.
Sourced Market currently has three London locations in St Pancras station, Barbican and Victoria, the latter of which currently remains closed.
A fourth London site, in Marylebone, was permanently shut back in March.
“Bringing together food and drink’s most exciting innovators is part of our DNA and we’re excited to be creating a foodie experience for those making journeys on the M1 as well as residents in Yorkshire," says Sourced Market MD Scott Macdonald, discussing the new opening.
“We believe we have created a food and drink destination that’s worth planning into your journey or taking the trip to if you’re more local.”
Leeds Skelton, a £64m development which opened in March, is billed as one of the most environmentally sustainable motorway service areas in the UK.
“The opening of Sourced Market double underlines Leeds Skelton Lake Service’s already strong reputation as a great place to rest, relax and refuel," says Andrew Long, CEO of Extra MSA Group.
"Visitors will be able to eat and drink local produce, whilst enjoying well designed facilities in an attractively landscaped lakeside setting, which has helped redefine what visitors can expect from a Motorway Service area.”
