The O2 in London's Greenwich Peninsula is to become home to a massive 30,000sq ft 'interactive football and entertainment venue' featuring a 'chef-driven' F&B offering.

Set to open in summer 2021, it will be the flagship site for competitive socialising brand TOCA Social.

Founded by former Fulham and Leeds United midfielder Eddie Lewis, TOCA Social describes itself as 'the world’s first interactive football entertainment concept' that features 'inclusive gaming experiences' leveraging proprietary Touch Trainer and AI-enabled computer vision technologies.

Similarly to other competitive socialising concepts, which have become more prevalent in the UK of late, TOCA Social will also have an F&B offering featuring a 'modern, chef-driven' menu.

It is hoped the opening will kick start a global expansion for the business.

“The O2 is Europe’s most iconic family leisure and retail destination, welcoming millions of visitors annually from the UK and throughout the world," says TOCA Social president Alex Harman.

"It is the perfect launchpad for our mission to bring the joy of playing football to everyone.”

Other competitive socialising brands include interactive darts chain Flight Club; shuffleboard concept Electric Shuffle; and social entertainment bar group Roxy Leisure.

In June it was reported that former JD Wetherspoon MD Mark McQuater had been named as the chairman of Roxy Leisure

Despite the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic, the group is currently preparing to expand its reach across the UK, having focused its operations in the North and Midlands until now.
