Dishoom says it will temporarily allow groups of less than six to reserve tables for evening service at any of its restaurants as part of its reopening strategy.

Previously it only allowed groups of six for more to make dinner reservations, however, until at least the end of the month Dishoom says it will be taking reservations for groups of up to six at any time of day, including evenings.

It adds that walk-ins will always be welcome, but booking is particularly recommended for busy times such as evenings and weekends.

The announcement comes as Dishoom sets out the reopening strategy for its restaurant estate following the Government-mandated lockdown of the hospitality sector, which is set to be lifted across most of England this weekend.

Next week, on 10 July, the group will reopen its London sites in Shoreditch, King’s Cross and Carnaby, as well as its restaurant in Manchester.

Then, on 17 July, it will reopen its site in Edinburgh; followed, finally, by its restaurant in Kensington on 24 July.

The opening of Dishoom's first Birmingham outpost, which had initially been scheduled for April, will be announced in the coming weeks; while its flagship site in London's Covent Garden will remain closed for now while it continues to undergo a major redesign and expansion.

In line with Coronavirus safety standards, all reopened sites will operate with fewer tables, and its Permit Room bars will be table service only.

New contactless payment and air filtration systems have also been installed.

Dishoom adds that its recently launched delivery offer will continue to operate through reopening, and its newly-invented bacon naan roll kits are still available for nationwide delivery.

Orders for collection, however, will no longer be available.
