Ivy Collection to introduce thermal temperature checks as it plans for reopening
It will be the first site in the Ivy's portfolio to reopen since the Coronavirus lockdown in March, and will see both the restaurant's dining room and newly-refurbished outdoor garden space open for guests.
While the group says service will remain a top priority, a series of measures will be introduced to ensure the health and safety of both guests and employees
Those measures will include the use of thermal cameras for temperature checks; a similar idea to that mooted earlier this month by operator Mission Mars, which it intends to introduce at its Albert’s Schloss bar and restaurant in Manchester as and when it reopens.
Tracking software will be used by all Ivy Chelsea Garden employees to log daily temperature readings over a seven day rolling period; and all areas of restaurant space will undergo professional deep cleaning and disinfecting on a daily basis.
Air filtration units have also been fitted (reported to be '99% effective' in killing the MRSA and H1N1 viruses, which are part of the same Coronavirus family), and dedicated members of staff have been appointed to ensure that health and safety is kept to a high standard.

“We can’t wait to welcome back our regular guests and members of the community who we have greatly missed over the last few months. The team are also looking forward to being united again on the restaurant floor and in the kitchen, whilst maintaining a safe distance at all times.”
It is believed that Prime Minister Boris Johnson is set to announce a reduction in the Government's two-metre social distancing rule later today (23 June).
