The group’s Rick Stein seafood restaurants in Marlborough, Wiltshire, and in Porthleven, Cornwall, it announced on it social media sites and also on the restaurants’ web pages.
“We are very sad to say that our Porthleven restaurant will not be reopening. Thank you to all of our customers who have supported us. We hope you will find your way to our other restaurants where perhaps we can share fond memories of nights overlooking the romantic harbour,” says the company.
The restaurant group, which operates its flagship The Seafood Restaurant in Padstow as well as restaurants in Barnes, Sandbanks, Winchester, and Falmouth as well as a collection of cafes, pubs and fish and chip shops in Cornwall, says it intends to reopen its restaurants on 4 July provided that the Government allows restaurants to reopen at this time.
Its restaurants including Steins Fish & Chips in Padstow and in Barnes have already been open for takeaway.
The restaurant group is among a number that have made announcements in the past week about not reopening restaurants, with Spanish restaurant group Lunya saying that it won’t reopen in restaurant in Manchester and London restaurants The Ledbury, Sardine and Indian Accent also not reopening once lockdown is lifted.
