The 237-bedroom hotel, which will be located within the One Bishopsgate Plaza building in the City, had been due to open later this year, but has been moved in light of the building delays caused by the Coronavirus pandemic.
It has previously announced that chefs Lorraine Sinclair and Cherish Finden will oversee the hotel’s food operation as and when it does open, as executive chef and executive pastry chef respectively.
“The Covid-19 pandemic has brought the world of travel and hospitality to an abrupt standstill,” says Anne Golden, Pan Pacific London’s general manager.
“Every opening is a challenge and as we ride through COVID-19, this is certainly a new one we’re facing. Gradually, and in line with directives from local authorities, construction operations are now continuing on site and early 2021 is a realistic timeframe for opening.
“Despite the delay, the hotel is well advanced and will grow into a formidable hospitality player in the UK.”
The eventual opening of Pan Pacific London will mark the European debut for the Singapore-based Pan Pacific Hotels Group.
The group currently owns and/or manages nearly 50 hotels, resorts and serviced suites in 29 cities across Asia, Oceania, North America, and Europe.
