Hammersmith restaurant Sam's Riverside plans to relaunch as soon as the Government allows with a new seafood terrace offering.

Owner Sam Harrison - who is well-known in West London having previously run Sam’s Brasserie in Chiswick and Harrison’s in Balham - launched the restaurant late last year and had always planned to make the most of the site's riverside terrace.

"There's an opportunity to celebrate the rest of the summer and celebration for hopefully some sort of a return to normality. We're going to try and open with a bit of a bang with a champagne and seafood terrace with a bar outside," he says on BigHospitality's United We Stand podcast.

Subject to Government guidelines, Harrison hopes to re-open the inside restaurant at the same time."We'll run a similar restaurant inside to outside but the focus will be on being outside in the sunshine by the river," he continues.

"I count myself very fortunate because our restaurant space seats 120. It's big bright and airy. I can make physical distancing work better than a lot of people."

Sam's Riverside - which is based in the same building as Riverside TV Studios - is running online quiz nights added by some famous TV faces that have become regulars during the short period the restaurant has been open.

Taking place on 16 June and 29 June, Sam's Riverside Quiz Night will feature the likes of Ant and Dec and David Tennant and will raise money for mental health charity Charlie Waller Memorial Trust. Head to the Sam's Riverside website for more details.
