Burger slinger Patty & Bun is to launch a chicken-focused offshoot this week.

Initially operating as a delivery-only brand out of the group's central kitchen in East London, the cornerstone of Sidechick's menu will be roast chicken, served either half or whole and available with a choice of three marinades including za’atar, garlic, honey, olive oil and lemon; piri piri; and clarified butter with herbs and lemon.

Side dishes will include a smokey aubergine with tomato compote with labneh, mint, coriander, breadcrumbs and pecorino; crispy roast potatoes; and a romaine lettuce salad with Calabrian chilli dressing, pecorino and breadcrumbs.

While Sidechick will initially be available through Deliveroo only, plans are in place to open a Sidechick pop-up on Kingly Street in Soho when lockdown rules allow.

“Aligned with Patty & Bun, we wanted to take something humble and absolutely delicious and put our spin on it," says Patty & Bun founder Joe Grossmann.

"We’ve been working on this concept now for over a year, simmering away in the background, and we thought what better time to launch than a pandemic when all you want is some comforting, nourishing big ass flavours that slap you round the face and give you a nice big hug.”
