Attawa is being launched by husband and wife team Ravinder and Amar Madhray who have lived in Dalston for more than 30 years and own the building on Kingsland High Street in which it is located. The restaurant takes its the name from their family village in Punjab, where they lived until re-locating to London in the 1970s.
The intention was to open the restaurant in March with Dugal having finalised the menu, but the enforced lockdown halted plans. However, the trio have spent the past few weeks completely redesigning the menu from scratch to make it suitable for takeaway.
Attawa will now open for takeaway tomorrow (10 June) with plans to open the restaurant for dine in in mid-July, pending Government advice and regulations.
