Trullo is to open a deli on the site next to its Italian restaurant in London's Islington within the next two weeks.

The announcement, first reported by Hot Dinners, was made via an Instagram post earlier this week to mark 10 years since Trullo, which is currently ranked at Number 99 on the UK’s Top 100 Restaurants List, first opened its doors.

It says: "Some exciting news aside from our 10th birthday is we’re opening a deli next door to Trullo in the next two weeks.

"If you’re missing your fix, we’ll serving up all the things you love about Trullo for you to take home. Pasta; pulses; wine and cheese; our sourdough bread; and the finest olive oils."

The Trullo deli will also stock a range of pre-cooked meals that can then be warmed up at home; as well as a selection of both barbecue and picnic hampers; and negroni ice pops.

Trullo was the first restaurant to be opened jointly by front-of-house expert Jordan Frieda; and chef Tim Siadatan, who was a graduate from the first intake at Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen.

The restaurant was a precursor to the pair's beloved pasta restaurant concept Padella, which helped create the blueprint for pasta-focused small plates places when it opened in 2016.

A second Padella site opened in Shoreditch earlier this year.
