McDonald’s will open all its drive-thru restaurants as of next week.

Following a successful trial of 39 reopening’s last week, the fast food giant has announced it will reopen all of its 924 drive-thru restaurants in the UK between 2-4 June.

As per its reopening strategy, all sites will operate at reduced hours – from11am to10pm – meaning that they will run a limited menu and will not serve breakfast as well as milkshakes.

Maximum spend will be capped at £25 with customers encouraged to use contactless payments where possible. Additional hygiene measures will also be in place.

“We are delighted to be returning to communities across the UK and Ireland, but it will look different and will take a little longer. Please bear with us,” says a statement on McDonald’s UK social media.

“Through our website and social media channels, we will confirm the locations of the reopening restaurants on each morning from 2 June.”

The company is also adding 75 restaurants to its McDelivery service via Uber Eats or Just Eat.

Speaking earlier this month, McDonald’s UK CEO Paul Pomroy said the chain was aiming to have all of its drive-thru restaurants reopen by early June following the “incredible response to news of our reopening”.
