Nathan Outlaw's London restaurant Siren to close permanently

Nathan Outlaw’s London restaurant Siren will not re-open post lockdown as part of a planned scaling back of The Goring’s F&B department.

The restaurant opened its doors at the Belgravia hotel last summer serving an upmarket menu of dishes largely based on seafood sourced from Cornwall, where Outlaw runs Outlaw’s Fish Kitchen and the two-Michelin-starred Restaurant Nathan Outlaw.

In a brief statement to BigHospitality Outlaw said that the situation was frustrating and that he had enjoyed working with The Goring and its CEO Jeremy Goring.

The Goring’s statement reads: “Due to the situation that all of us in UK hospitality find ourselves in, we are going to have to operate differently for a while in order to protect the business and its staff in the long term. For this reason, when we eventually reopen the Goring it will be with a smaller F & B department, and very sadly we will not be able to reopen Siren.”

Siren was the first new restaurant to open at The Goring - which is moments from Buckingham Palace and holds a royal warrant - for 109 years.

It was part of a £4m investment that created the new dining space as well as a kitchen and redesigned bar area and was run day-to-day by Outlaw’s lieutenant Andrew ‘Ginger’ Sawyer.

Outlaw’s move to The Goring followed a seven-year stint at The Capital hotel down the road in Knightsbridge.
