French artisan bakery group Paul has reopened seven of its London sites for delivery and takeaway, with three more scheduled to open next week.

Bakeries in Canary Wharf, Hampstead, Holland Park, South Kensington, Hammersmith, Marble Arch, and Wimbledon have all reopened this week, with ones in Chelsea, Earl’s Court, and Islington, set to reopen on Monday (27 April).

All sites will be open for takeaway, with social distancing measures in place and priority given to customers who are either key workers or considered vulnerable.

Delivery via UberEats and Deliveroo is also available ,with an extended delivery radius from each location.

The group says its teams are adhering to the highest health and safety measures, wearing PPE at all times with hand-washing and surface sanitising stepped up to take place every 10 minutes.

Seating has been removed, transactions are cashless, and the use of re-useable cups have been paused.

“We took the careful decision to responsibly open some of our stores to extend our delivery miles and give access to those who can’t get to the supermarkets easily,” says Paul CEO Mark Hilton.

“We’ve put new processes in place and stepped up our already stringent hygiene measures. Our team members have returned on an opt-in volunteer basis – nobody feeling uncomfortable needs to come back – and the free coffees for NHS workers is a small token of our huge appreciation.”

Paul is also continuing to operate its newly-opened bread and food delivery hub The Grocery Market, which is located at its central bakery in Acton.

Opened earlier this month, The Grocery Market sells essential products including as milk, butter, fresh fruit, and vegetables,  alongside a selection of fresh bread and sweet pastries.

Other London-centric operators that have begun to reopen select sites for delivery or takeaway in recent days include Pret A Manger, Five Guys, and Pizza Pilgrims.

Earlier today it was also reported that MEATliquor is to reopen its East Dulwich restaurant this week for takeaway and delivery.
