The group behind high-end Mayfair Indian restaurants Jamavar and Bombay Bustle is to launch a Chinese restaurant in Curzon Street in May.

On the former site of Indian restaurant Matsya, the as yet unnamed Mayfair restaurant will have 85-cover and will be split over four floors.

The India-based The Leela Group - which owns a large portfolio of restaurants, hotels and other businesses in India as well as numerous other overseas interests - opened Jamavar in 2017 and followed up with the more casual but still high-end Bombay Bustle in Maddox Street in 2018.

Restaurant Property was the only agent involved.

“Mayfair continues to attract significant international interest,” says Restaurant Property founder and director David Rawlinson.

“Despite a challenging 2019, there are grass roots signs of confidence returning to parts of the sector and premium prices starting to rise over 2020.”

This is the third deal that Restaurant Property have completed with The Leela Group in Mayfair. Other recent Mayfair deals the property company has been involved in include Amazonico.
