Jamie Oliver Group to open new Dublin restaurant
Chequer Lane by Jamie Oliver will launch on Dublin’s Exchequer Street in April in partnership with Gerry Fitzpatrick, who oversees the chef’s Irish franchise arm.
The 100-cover restaurant is billed as celebrating “the best of Irish produce” with the menu set to include rock oysters from Carlingford Bay, beef cooked on a robata grill and local cheeses.
Oliver's UK restaurant empire collapsed in 2019 but the chef still runs a successful international business, trading from 74 sites across 27 markets with 21 franchise partners.
Though the Jamie’s Italian brand has disappeared from UK high streets there are still more than 20 locations overseas, including a site in Dundrum which was launched by Fitzpatrick in 2012.
Last year Oliver converted his Jamie's Italian sites in Bangkok and Bali in to a new casual dining concept, Jamie Oliver Kitchen, which is run by franchisees.
Other brands in the the chef's international restaurant portfolio include Jamie Oliver’s Pizzeria, Jamie’s Deli, and Jamie Oliver’s Diner.
