Crussh CEO steps down
Shane Kavanagh will leave his role in February after four years at the helm.
Crussh says Kavanagh is departing to take on a ‘new challenge’ and does so with its ‘best wishes’.
During his tenure Kavanagh oversaw Crussh, which was founded in 1998, grow its high street estate from 28 to 35 sites and open its first stores outside London, in Birmingham and Bristol.
In 2018 the group signed deals with food travel expert SSP and contract caterer Sodexo to bring its smoothies and protein pots to transport hubs and high-volume sites such as universities, workplaces and hospitals respectively.
The company also launched a retail range with Sainsbury’s, which has rolled out to over 300 stores this month.
“Shane has navigated the core business through the most turbulent times ever faced by London’s food-to-go marketplace,” says Crussh executive chairman Jonathan Hart.
“Crussh has the potential to significantly build on its leadership in the healthy food-to-go sector and we are looking forward to finding someone with the skills and experience to take Crussh onto this next exciting phase of our development."
Hart will lead the business in the interim while the company recruits a new CEO, with Kavanagh retaining an advisory role.
