The Lympstone Manor owner will relaunch The Cove, which has been owned and operated for the past 17 years by restaurateurs Arty Williams and Annette Rickard, in March following its annual closure.
Currently undergoing a light refurbishment, the restaurant will ‘offer a relaxed and informal approach to dining’ that’s designed to attract families, locals and holidaymakers alike.
It will serve a 'brasserie-style' à la carte menu, as well as a tasting menu featuring some of Caines’ ‘signature’ dishes.
“I am delighted to be able to take on the restaurant and work with the dedicated team to continue to champion the best of Cornish produce in this informal and beautiful setting,” says Caines.
“We wish Arty and Annette all the best for the future and thank them for entrusting this fantastic property to us.”
2020 looks set to be a busy year for Caines, who is also due to open a casual dining restaurant in Exmouth this summer that will form part of a new development in the port town.
As well as his Michelin-starred hotel restaurant Lympstone Manor, Caines’ current portfolio includes The Coach House restaurant at the Kentisbury Grange Hotel in Devon.
