Sushi roll concept SushiDog is to open its first bricks and mortar restaurant in London’s Covent Garden this spring.

The group will replace dessert bar YOLO in a 300sq ft unit at 1 Tower Street.

SushiDog was founded in August 2017 by Greg Ilsen and Nick Goldstein and started trading from a kiosk at the Westfield London shopping centre in May 2018.

It offers customisable poke bowls and made-to-order sushi rolls, wrapped up in a similar size to a burrito.

“What's been great to see is that we appeal to such a wide range of demographic; everyone from local office workers to children,” says Ilsen and Goldstein.

“We've had a lot of demand to bring our concept to the Covent Garden area so we're really excited about opening up our second store there in March 2020.”

SushiDog will be available on Deliveroo for home delivery, but will also be working with City Pantry, Caterwings, and Feedr to cater for larger office orders.

Danielle Leslie, a surveyor at London restaurant agency Restaurant Property, acted for YOLO.
