The 6,200sq ft space will feature two outdoor terraces, a 100-cover restaurant, and three bar areas.
It will also offer a ‘grab and go’ bagel menu using bagels supplied by East London bakery Shalom Hot Bagels.
“Canary Wharf is the perfect location for our London flagship site,” says Simon Potts, managing director of The Alchemist.
“The new site will have all the quality and theatre found at The Alchemist, but with its own twist tailored to Canary Wharf.”
The latest launch follows a significant two-year period for The Alchemist, which says it has seen its national growth rate increase by 180%.
Canary Wharf will bring the group’s portfolio to 18 sites, with a further London opening in Nine Elms scheduled for early next year.
Two further openings - one in Cheltenham, and another in Edinburgh - are also slated for 2020.
Founded in 2010, The Alchemist, which was formerly part of the Living Ventures stable, was bought out by Palatine Private Equity in 2015 and has since seen turnover increase four-fold.
In January last year the group also secured a £16m funding package from Santander to continue its growth across the UK.
Potts has previously said that working with private equity had enabled the group to both achieve scale and build a supportive infrastructure.
He has also confirmed that the management team was now looking towards global expansion, with a view to begin targeting overseas opportunities in the coming years.
